The work behind payday
Payroll support for the changes in your team.
The routine matters. So do the exceptions. We agree the support your business needs across each pay cycle.
A dependable pay run
A clear timetable for changes, checks and approval. We process the agreed payroll, prepare payslips and handle the related Revenue payroll submissions.
Starters, leavers and changing roles
New employees, departures and salary changes bring details that are easy to miss. We work through the payroll information with you so changes reach the right pay run.
Variable hours, overtime and bonuses
Hourly teams, commissions and one-off payments need more than a repeated monthly figure. We process the information you approve and flag missing or unusual items for review.
Benefits, pensions and deductions
Benefits and pension contributions need to reach payroll correctly. We agree the relevant payroll treatment, information and responsibilities, including any pension or auto-enrolment administration in scope.
Directors and international employees
A director’s pay or an employee working overseas can need tax input beyond the routine pay run. We flag those questions early and connect them with the appropriate tax support.
Payroll that connects to your accounts
Payroll reports and accounting entries help you see the full employment cost alongside your other spending. Payroll can sit within your outsourced finance service.
Irish payroll, in practice
The details Irish employers need covered.
Revenue reporting, benefits and pension administration all need a place in the payroll process. We agree the work and responsibilities around your business.
Revenue reporting and payroll checks
Irish payroll information must reach Revenue on or before payday. We use the current Revenue Payroll Notification (RPN) and check the pay-run information before submission. Revenue’s payroll guidance.
MyFutureFund auto-enrolment
Auto-enrolment adds enrolment notices, payroll deductions and employer contributions to the pay-cycle process. We agree who handles the payroll setup, contribution checks and employer actions, so responsibilities are clear. Official MyFutureFund employer guidance.
Expenses and benefits reporting
Revenue’s Enhanced Reporting Requirements cover specified tax-free travel and subsistence payments, small benefits and remote-working daily allowances. We agree how this information is collected and who submits it on or before payment. Revenue’s ERR guidance.
Directors’ pay and irregular payments
A director’s PRSI position and the tax basis used for an irregular payment need care. We review the relevant payroll setup and connect remuneration questions with our tax team before the run is finalised.
Company cars, electric vehicles and BIK
A company car can create a taxable benefit through payroll. Vehicle details, business mileage and current electric-vehicle reliefs affect the calculation. We work from the relevant records and review changes. Revenue’s vehicle BIK guidance.
Corrections through the proper process
Inherited errors and overdue work need a documented review. We identify what happened and agree any corrections or amended submissions through the appropriate process, preserving the record of the original work.
A clear pay-cycle process
Collect. Check. Approve. Complete.
Everyone knows what is needed and when.
01 · Collect changes
Your team provides hours, starters, leavers and approved pay changes by the agreed cut-off.
02 · Check the run
We prepare payroll and raise questions about missing information or unusual changes.
03 · Get approval
Your nominated approver reviews the payroll before it is finalised. Payment authorisation stays with your business.
04 · Complete the cycle
We prepare the agreed payslips, submissions and reports, with payroll records ready for the accounts.
Moving payroll to Around
A planned handover before the next pay run.
We review your current setup, employee records, year-to-date figures and upcoming pay dates. Then we agree access, responsibilities and a start date. Any historic corrections are identified and scoped separately.
Payroll can form part of your wider Around service. Every client has a named manager and a quarterly review; Heloise provides the specialist payroll support.
Payroll, explained
Questions before we start.
We agree the scope around your team, pay frequency and systems. It can cover payroll processing, payslips, Revenue payroll submissions, starters and leavers, agreed deductions and payroll reports.
You provide or approve employee details, hours, pay changes and other inputs by the agreed cut-off. You approve the payroll and remain responsible for authorising payments. We make those responsibilities clear from the start.
Yes. We review the existing records, year-to-date figures, reporting setup and upcoming pay dates before agreeing the handover. Any corrections or catch-up work are scoped separately.
We review the payroll information and administration your arrangements require, then agree what Around will handle and what remains with your team or provider. Pension product and investment advice sit with the appropriate adviser.
Tell us where the person works and how they are paid before the arrangement changes. We identify the payroll and tax questions and agree any additional specialist work needed. Overseas payroll is not assumed to be part of an Irish payroll engagement.
The fee depends on employee numbers, pay frequency, complexity and the work included. Our monthly service plans include payroll where agreed; a payroll-only quote depends on your requirements. We confirm the scope and price before starting.
We use BrightPay for Irish payroll. If you use another system, we review your records, exports and handover requirements before agreeing whether a move is needed.
Share the correspondence and deadline with us promptly. We review the payroll records, identify the information needed and agree the response work. Where a query needs wider tax input, we involve the tax team. Additional investigation or correction work is scoped separately.
